I am Rico Nasol. I am an eCommerce Marketing Specialist. I am in no way an expert int eh field, but I do have some ideas that can help people save some time and save some money. During all of this, hopefully we'll be able to generate some added traffic. Some of the tips I have for ranking through SEO. I'll list them below:
- If you are selling products or services use adwords, adcenter and search marketing.
No matter what the experts say or even the search engines. You will gain rank a whole lot faster if you have some soft of pay-per-click campaign. Search engines and other SEO experts will tell you that it has no weight on how you will rank organically. I've seen the results of sites that have PPC behind them and sites that didn't. If you can afford to go longer and wait for your site to gain traffic completely organically, then you can do that. If you have a small budeget of even $100 a month, it is definitely worth putting together some basic campaigns for a few keywords. This will help you rank quicker.
- Make sure articles have a voice and are very organic. No keyword stuffing.
Articles on sites should be very real and very organic. There should be a voice behind the writer. I know a lot of people are fans of having content written overseas. Your users will not be happy about that. At the end of the day, user experience is really what drives traffic. If your users are getting what they want, your sit will perform a whole lot better. If they are coming to your site just because Google, Yahoo or Bing sent them there, you are going to be pretty disappointed. Don't do your users a disservice or patronize them with overseas content and having random articles without a voice.
- Add any video to the site that you can
Any video is better than no video. In my past lives at major online retailers, we produced our own quirky videos. I got approached by so many third party solutions to create videos for our site. They boasted that they could create a product video for us for $2-500 a video. What a waste of money. What we did is we came up with a very streamlined process and hired a team to shoot these videos. At the end of the day with equipment, staffing and all of the rest of the overhead, we ended up creating videos for about $17-20 a piece. Don't let these guys tell you it will cost you hundereds of dollars for a video. You can do them very organically and very easily yourself. Now I know a lot of video companies are going to get mad at me for saying this, but if you have a little bit of time, a small HD camera and some editing software, you have your self a production studio. In alter posts I'll show you the quality you can get from a hand cam and some ingnuity.
Those are just a few tips on how to increase SEO. I'll have more tips for you guys in the coming days. I know this won't be indexed for quite a long time so hopefully you'll find this in time enough to use it.
